Choosing Your Wedding Suit

For most men their wedding day will be the most important day of their lives so far. As such we understand the need for you to have the perfect suit for what will surely be the perfect day.

At London Style by John Cutler our extensive selection of made to measure men’s suit styles and fabrics means that your suit can be made to compliment any theme or look that your wedding might have.

Similarly this versatility ensures that whether you are getting married in a church or registry office, at a hotel or resort or on a beach, we can provide the appropriate answer to all your clothing requirements.

John Cutler will spend time with you and your partner to discuss your suit requirements in detail, and his knowledge and expertise will ensure that whatever your size and shape your suit will be the perfect fit so you will look and feel your very best on the big day.

John’s advice on what it is appropriate to wear at more formal weddings is as follows:

Business/lounge suit – appropriate for weddings during the day, or less formal evening events

Dinner suit – suitable for more formal evening weddings

Morning suits – worn for more formal morning and afternoon weddings, not for evening affairs. There are two alternative styles depending on personal preference. A plain grey suit with pastel coloured waistcoat, black and white hound’s-tooth trousers, soft down collar shirt and silver grey morning tie or charcoal suit with black and white striped trousers, dove grey waistcoat, soft down collar shirt and silver grey morning tie

Formal White Tails – worn at very formal weddings after 6pm. Consists of black tail coat and trousers, white marcella waistcoat, white shirt with winged collar and white marcella bow tie

For an informal ceremony at an island resort, in the park or on a beach John suggests that a more informal expression of the groom’s individuality might be considered.

In all cases the groom’s outfit should complement that of his bride, and whilst male members of the wedding party should not be clones of the groom, they should in turn be dressed to complement him, not compete.

We can of course assist in styling your bridal party and ensure that they complement the look and style of the day, and enhance the bride and groom’s own dress.

All this can be considered when you meet with John and appropriate options and budgets agreed.
